These three have had a very long journey today. They left the Yukon early this morning. You can see their arrival by float plane in my stories. I live on an island so this is the most efficient way to get here!

Obviously transporting kittens long distances is not ideal, but so often this is the best chance they have. The northern communities have much smaller populations. Spaying and neutering is not as common and so you end up with a high population of animals, and not as many people looking to adopt. Where I live there is a high demand for adoptable animals and a lower supply.

It’s only been an hour and already they are having a ball playing with all the new toys. I’m going to get to know them a little bit before I decide on names. When I heard that the new babies had come from the Yukon, the first thing I thought of was Yukon Gold potatoes. I LOVE potatoes! And I LOVE kittens! So of course it made sense to name the babies after types of potatoes, right?! 😝

Guys, meet Yukon, Marabel and Kennebec (we are going to call him Kenne). Yukon has the white face and is polydactyl. Our girl Marabel has very subtle dilute calico markings. Kenne (pronounced Kenny) is solid grey floof and is also polydactyl. The extra thumbs are just tooooo much! ❤ @whiskersnpurrs said.
