This is cat Braxton, aka Mr. Grumpy Pants. He’s quite committed to hating me, but luckily he’s very food motivated.
He loves Temptations and meat tubes, and I’m not above buying his love with treats. Can’t wait to crack this tough little nut 🥰

So apparently we’re friends today 😍
The moment that a semi-feral cat drops its guard and decides to trust you is so special. It brings me to tears a lot of the time. It’s just such a privilege to earn their trust, and show them how good domestic life can be ❤️

Braxi was snuggling with me and purring up a storm while her brother watched from the cat tree. He must have been feeling left out, as he made his way down and tucked himself in. It’s the little scootch to get closer that does it for me ❤️

Braxton let me pet him out in the big house! He was on the cat tree with his sister so I think this gave him the same sense of comfort he feels when he’s in the foster room. It’s a really good start though. Sweet boy is trying so hard ❤️

I shared this last night in my stories, but I think it deserves a permanent place in my feed. The kids had so many breakthroughs yesterday, including both of them snuggling up next to me on the couch. And yes, Braxton accepted my petting without complaint 😍
.Sometimes Braxton forgets I’m good people. But then 30 seconds in he remembers I’m not so bad and the purr motor fires up 😍

Yesterday I spent all day in my pj’s reading a book, and multiple times Braxton came and lay next to me for snuggles. He only tried to eat my book a couple times. I’m taking it as a win 🙌🏻
