The tinies still let me know if Bottle Lady is tardy. Theyāre chugging down milkies like college kids with beer at a frat party. Weights are getting higher; tummies are getting rounder. š½

Itās sweater weather! š§¶
Orphan Kitten Sweaters are handmade kitten onesies provided to fosters, vet hospitals and rescues. Itās a non-profit and the members donate their time and supplies. How awesome is that?! And how adorable are the tinies?
It is common for orphaned tiny kittens to suckle on one another because they have such a strong urge to nurse and there is no mother. Prolonged suckling causes infections that can travel throughout the body. Also, deformities of the penis, with scarring, can lead to the urine not being able to exit the body. As a result, this can be fatal if not corrected. Surgery is risky and expensive, so you see, the sweaters are to PROTECT the kittens. Think of them as like a life jacket in a boat. They do not wear them all the time, only when I notice this behavior when all together. Please consider these facts before passing judgement on what we in the rescue world of neonatal kittens do to try to keep them healthy. @kitten_faces said.

What should we wear today?
Please read- these are special ātherapeuticā sweaters which are designed to cover a kittenās private parts so that their litter mates donāt suckle on those areas. Iām using them only for short periods of time. The kittens are active and they donāt stay on really well but when I have them all out together I donāt have to worry. Many negative comments being made- I think because people either donāt read, or do not understand the seriousness of the consequences with prolonged suckling of the genitals . To repeat, infections, deformation, potential surgeries, even death. If you make a negative comment or use inappropriate language, good bye to you!
