Hello Cornbread 1👋 Cornbread is a kitten that came into the shelter today with her two littermates. They were all lookin’ a bit crusty but this girl was dehydrated, very thin, low energy, and had a very low temp.

Cornbread is a kitten that came into the shelter today with her two littermates. They were all lookin’ a bit crusty but this girl was dehydrated, very thin, low energy, and had a very low temp. I spent a long time trying to warm her up at the shelter, but after ups and downs I decided to bring her home for a bit to try and get her back on her feet. Did I mention she’s also covered in fleas, smells like urine, and was soaked when she came in? The people who found her tried to give her a bath and did not dry her appropriately, which could have costed her life. Please no commenting hate towards her previous caretakers—everything they did was with good intention.

Cornbread cat has gotten a bunch of supportive care to help her bounce back, and I am so hoping she will look better by morning. Stay warm little girl.🤞 @themarigoldkittencrew said.

🌽Cornbread update🌽

Cornbread is feeling a whole lot better after a couple days of fluids and high-calorie foods! She ending up breaking with an upper respiratory infection that the vet put her on meds for. The cat in front of me now is still very sick and horribly thin, but she’s reactive to pets and chirps at me when she hears a food can open. Gone is the smell of urine from her fur, thankfully. Here’s to stable body temps and good appetites!🥂 @themarigoldkittencrew said.
