Meet kitten Marlon, as in Brando from The Godfather. It’s a big name for our frail little runt. Let me tell you how we ended up with this unlikely name theme chosen by a yogi 🤦🏼♀️.

I agreed to take this litter on as soon as I returned from holiday. But before I got back the runt needed to see the vet as he wasn’t doing great, and I was asked what I wanted to name the kittens (they need names before they go to the vet for tracking reasons). I had to make a quick decision and in that moment I was watching the movie Judy, about Judy Garland. I decided to do a Golden Age of Hollywood theme. I told the rescuer to name the runt Rita (Hayworth) if it was a girl or Marlon (Brando) if it was a boy.

Well, he went to the vet and it turned out he was a boy, so Marlon went on his official paperwork. Fast forward to me at home with six new kittens that are ALL BOYS except one! I didn’t want to use my Hollywood theme because there’s so many good girl names I love – I’ll save it for another litter. Which left me scratching my head to figure out a theme to go with Marlon.

So here we are, six sweet adorable kittens named after real and fictional gangsters (and one gangster wife). Marlon is doing much better now; he is still very frail and underweight but is eating and gaining 🙏🏻 @whiskersnpurrs said.
Little runt kitten Marlon is doing really well. He’s eating and gaining steadily. But kitten Paulie and kitten Bugsy have lost weight the past few days so I’ve been giving them extra KMR. They’re all so sweet and just want to be piled on my chest all the time. It’s impossible to get good photos or video of them! 😍 @whiskersnpurrs said.

He is very tiny for being just over 6 weeks. But he’s interested in food and eats well, and he’s slowly but steadily gaining. He’s the sweetest little guy and always wants to be right up under my chin. He reminds me so much of Ducky 😍 @whiskersnpurrs said.
