Meet kitten Kea! Named after Mauna Kea, a Hawaiian volcano (pronounced k-ey-uh). Isn’t she perfect? She likes to spend most of her time napping and snuggling with mom.@windycityfosters said.

Based on their weights (290-310g) and the fact they all opened their eyes 4-5 days ago, I’m officially marking today as the lava rocks’ 2 week birthday! Happy birthday babies!

You can see that Kea’s eyes aren’t fully opened quite yet, but that’s ok! They can take all the time they need.

Loa, Kea, and Etna have all developed a sneeze in the last few days, which they likely caught on the transport. We are seeing if we can get them into the vet and put Loa and all the babies on antibiotics. It’s good to act on a sneeze as soon as possible. I’m sure you all have seen on other foster pages what can happen to a tiny kitten with an untreated URI. But don’t worry, these guys are going to be fine. ♥️ @windycityfosters said.
As you can see, one of Kea’s eyes is sealed shut and I have to use a warm damp rag to open it every few hours. She’s on eye drops and terramycin. All of them are on antibiotics as well. This eye situation happened overnight! Just an example of how quickly a URI can get worse. But don’t worry too much… they’ll be ok. All it takes is some meds and little bit of love to make it all better.♥️ @windycityfosters said.

I want to thank @louberrycrunch for donating this toy and two packs of kitten wet food off my wishlist!! This is their first toy and they are slightly confused but still very excited about it! Loa has already downed two cans of the food. It means SO much to me and the fosters! Thank you!!!
