.Allow me to kitten introduce Mama Celeste (from Celestial), her baby girl Litha (the pagan name for summer solstice), and the boys Ravi (Sanskrit for sun), and Apollo (Sun god).
Today is summer solstice here in the northern hemisphere, so that is the inspiration for the names I chose for our new family.

I gave Mama Celeste some space today. She’s very timid and scared so I don’t want to stress her out further by handling her babies too much. I’ll see how she’s doing tomorrow and if it’s ok with her, I’ll get some close up photos of her sweet babies to share with you ❤ #solsticekittens @whiskersnpurrs Said.

Photo one is Ravi. He’s got a white tabby striped face and the cutest white tips on his ears. His tail is kinked like Ray’s. He weighed 235 grams this morning. Ravi is the Sanskrit word for sun ☀️

Photo two is our sweet little girl Litha. She has small patches of ginger on her face and she’s the smallest at 223 grams. Litha is the pagan word for summer solstice or midsummer and is pronounced Lee-tha 🌼

Photo three is our big boy Apollo. He is solid grey and a hefty 269 grams. He’s also our resident screamer! Apollo is a Roman sun god 🌞

Mama Celeste was outside of the nesting tote when I came into her room this morning. She’s definitely starting to relax and has been eating, drinking and using her box like a champ. She purrs and leans into me when I pet her. She’s a doll 💕 @whiskersnpurrs Said.

She’s doing so well, considering she’s never been inside before. My heart breaks for this kitten. She’s only 9 months old. Please spay and neuter your pets. @whiskersnpurrs Said.

There’s been many questions about Celeste’s colour. She is a smoky grey, not brown. I let in some light this morning so you could see her true colour.

She may have been born outside but there’s nothing feral about this kitten. She must have been shown lots of love by the colony caretakers because she is very trusting. I have no doubt that she will be adoptable after her time in foster care @whiskersnpurrs Said.

I’ve been giving Mama Celeste lots of space to settle in with her kittens. Resisting the temptation to handle them too much so she doesn’t get stressed out. But she really seems to be relaxing and trusting me more now.

So today I let the babies out of the nesting tote for a walkabout. They’re three weeks old now and starting to find their legs.

Good morning from our sweet happy little family. I’m going to be moving them to the foster room very soon. They’re ready to get out of the nesting tote and stretch their tiny little legs 😍 @whiskersnpurrs Said.
This is from a few days ago, but the solstice babies are now tucked into the big foster room. They are out of the nesting tote and free to explore. It’s much more comfortable for me too, so I’ll be able to spend more time with their cuteness 😍
