One of the kitten babies managed aspirate even while syringe feeding and controlling their own flow. I did my best to help them sneeze it up, but despite my best efforts, I can still hear a little fluid rattling around in there 😞
Thankfully, one of the added benefits of the incubator is a hookup for a nebulizer. I set it up, did the first round of saline, and I’m already noticing little sneezes (which is good news). The goal is to get them to sneeze/cough it all up because at this point they are still too small for the shelter to feel comfortable prescribing antibiotics. Keep all your fingers and toes crossed for us 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 @fostermotherofkittens said .

This little one is giving me a run for my money. We are currently dealing with what I’m guessing to be a URI. Unfortunately these babies are still too small for antibiotics, so I’ll just be doing everything to keep it at bay until they are big enough. Appetite is down, and the eye just continues to goo up (even though it isn’t even open yet.) Today we are going to do a few extra nebulizer treatments, LOADS of snot sucking(yes it’s as glamorous as it sounds), and some eye meds. Wish us luck 🥱 @fostermotherofkittens said .
