NEW FOSTERS! Meet cat Reuben (first picture) and cat Johnny (second picture)! They are around 13-14 weeks old and are healthy, except for the possibility of worms.

The third picture was sent to @animalhouseshelterhuntley by City of Salem cat Animal Control in Southern IL, a high kill shelter. These cat babies were going to be euthanized yesterday, November 7th. Although my foster room was occupied by Buttons, I decided that they could stay in my walk-in closet (someone asked me “isn’t that cruel to keep them in there?” and I replied “I think they’d rather temporarily stay in a closet than a cold cage on death row). They are SUPER sweet and playful. The only reason they were going to be euthanized is because they aren’t neutered and may have worms. I’m so excited to once again have two little black cat kittens! @windycityfosters said.

Look how happy these sweet cat babies are in their new bed!!! Thank you so much @eliseoriel!!! If you saw in my last post, they were huddled in their litter box two nights ago. From now on, they get to sleep in a cozy cat bed! They never have to sleep in their litter box again…😌

Update on their condition: I’m now thinking they don’t have worms or at least it’s not bad because both of them had solid 💩 today. They are still on panacur and pyrantel just in case! cat Reuben kind of looks like he has a pot belly, but he may just be eating a lot since he most likely didn’t get a ton of food in Salem. I’m keeping an eye on him. @windycityfosters said.

These little cat are soooo sweet! It’s hard to get a picture of them because they want to be right next to me at all times! Turn the volume up for a purring thunderstorm.🌩😸

I definitely spoke too soon when I said I don’t think they have worms… I went to change the litter box this morning and found diarrhea with more than one mature roundworm in it. They weren’t live, most likely because the pyrantel is doing its job. The shelter wanted them to start panacur on the 14th, but I’m going to start it today. If you are an animal foster parent and haven’t dealt with worms, just you wait. They’re coming for you! 💩 @windycityfosters said.

cat Reuben… I don’t know what his name is from, but I’m just going to say he is named after the sandwich.🤤

Hygiene is very important to cat Johnny.🛁

You can tell the two personalities of these guys just from this video: Johnny is very playful and active and Reuben is quiet and observant. @windycityfosters said.

Somehow I got both of them to look at the camera at the same time.
