Two facts about Tigger-

1. He loves to close his eyes when he has his milkies. To be honest, his eyes aren’t fully opened yet. But still.

2. This guy can pee like a racehorse. 😹 @kitten_faces said.

Don’t let her cuteness fool you. Kanga has been stressing me out because exactly Sunday at 3:00 in the morning she decided nope, I do not feel like eating. A few hours later, same thing, followed by a weight loss of 11 grams. Not a huge loss but we don’t want to go that direction!

Since she won’t eat (drink formula from her bottle) on her own, she is being tube fed to keep her tummy full, her blood sugar levels steady, and to make sure she remains hydrated. We’re hopeful that soon she will gain her appetite back. I’m weighing her at each feeding and today no weight gain but no loss either. @kitten_faces said.

Some of you have asked about tube feeding. This is a lifesaving technique that’s handy to know. Before I go any further, let me stress the importance of being properly trained to do this!!

The feeding tube is very small and flexible and has several little holes at the end of the tubing. I will lightly lubricate it and insert in the mouth. You have to know where to place it so you get it into the stomach and not the lung.
Once it’s safely and securely in place, the plunger is slowly and steadily depressed to get the pre measured amount of formula directly into the tummy. Care also needs to be taken in extracting the feeding tube.

Kanga doesn’t like being tube fed mostly because I purrito her to keep her front paws from pulling out the tube. She’s getting better with it though and I think she realizes I’m trying to help her.

We are growing!
Our eyes have opened, ear flaps are unfolding, and our necks are getting stronger. That’s why we tremble a little bit while moving around; it’s not that we’re cold (the incubator is 85 degrees), but that our nervous systems and muscles are still learning how to work.
Our Foster Mom is in love with us, and she does this weird thing where she sniffs our walnut-heads and kisses our bellies. Whatever!

Good morning from the Kitty Bake Oven! (Please excuse the incubator inappropriately grunting; it’s the distilled water intake.)

Speaking of the incubator, it’s getting smaller. Or the kittens are getting bigger 😺
They will spend more time each day outside of it so they can exercise. Like tiny prisoners in “the yard”. 😂 But they’re not even 2 weeks old yet so this is the best place for their development, although it’s rather “cozy”. @kitten_faces said.
