Little kitten Basil isn’t gaining weight. He’s still stuck at 108 grams (3.8 oz) while his siblings are around 150g. His ribs are also more prominent than the others’. I’m going to start supplementing and giving him “private” nursing times with Mom. I was warned this could happen with inbred kittens. @windycityfosters said.

The good news is he is still active and has a strong voice, he is warm, and he is sleeping in the kitten pile, not off to the side. I’m really hoping he starts thriving and gaining weight.🤞🏻 @windycityfosters said.

Everyone’s doing ok this morning! kitten Basil gained 2 grams last night, not as much as I wanted, but still better than nothing! He is now at 110g. @windycityfosters said.

kitten Basil is still doing ok besides the slow weight gain. He’s active, warm, and nursing. I’m supplementing every two hours with 3 parts goat milk 1 part KMR.
Happy update: Basil is now completely off supplementing and gained 7 grams last night! Nutmeg is now in the hands of our shelter’s wonderful vet, who will be taking her home and providing round the clock care! I’ll give you guys updates as soon as I get them! @windycityfosters said.

kitten Basil is definitely the calmest kitten in the litter… he sat in his purrito without a single fuss!

The babies will be 2 weeks old tomorrow! Everyone is still gaining weight steadily and growing strong! @windycityfosters said.
