Dear cat Loaâs former family, who dumped her and her tiny babies off at an Oklahoma animal control because they didnât want to deal with kittens: take a little responsibility and spay/neuter your animals!!!đ€Ź #spayandneuteryourpetsdamnit

Let me be clear on why this upsets me so much. These people knew full well that their cat was pregnant and instead of getting her spayed or giving her up to a shelter so they could spay her, they waited until she gave birth and then gave her and the babies up. Right after she gave birth, she gets uprooted from her home and placed into a metal cage. What should this family have done you ask? They should have spayed her. Simple as that. Sheâs not a feral or escaped pet. She wasnât found outside by a good Samaritan. There are occasional FREE spay/neuter clinics in that area. There is no excuse. âą
Yes, she may be in a good place now, but what about the other cats and kittens that didnât find a spot on the transport because Loaâs family didnât spay her? It all could have been avoided… @windycityfosters said.
We donât know for sure how many litters cat Loa has had, but Iâm guessing this is her first (and I hope Iâm right!). She is so dedicated to them and hardly ever leaves their side, but there are little things she doesnât seem experienced at. She doesnât clean them very well so Iâm constantly having to change bedding to keep the area sanitary and she doesnât know to expose her stomach to feed them either. Thankfully these arenât serious issues. Sheâs a good mom, just needs a little help! @windycityfosters said.
Just thirty seconds of kittens nursing from their cat mom… and Fuji crying because his brother is hogging the milk bar. #Loaslavarocks @windycityfosters said.

At first I thought cat Loa was just a naturally reserved cat that kept to herself. She liked chin scritches and pets, but nothing more. Turns out, she just needed a little time to come out of her shell! Sheâs turning out to be an absolute sweetheart… loves being held, brushed, and will constantly rub against me. Sheâs using her voice more and gives happy little trills when I walk in the room. I am so lucky to have gotten such sweet and beautiful momma cats this season! @windycityfosters said.
