Wet hair don’t care💦
Buttons is one of the bigger kittens weighing in at 2.1 lbs! The smallest kitten, Lollipop, weighs about 1.7 lbs. all have been fed the same amount and are completely healthy. It’s so strange that there is such a big gap between the smallest and the biggest! @windycityfosters said.
Fluffy Buttons is the most skittish kitten of the #candykittens litter. He loves people, but loud noises or quick movements make him nervous. I think I’m going to recommend that he go to a home with no small children!

o Buttons is the only foster in the house right now…. we took him, his siblings, and Jekyll and Hyde into the shelter to be neutered and put up for adoption, but he didn’t weigh enough! So we brought him back home. Don’t worry! Bear, my resident cat, will keep him company.♥️ @windycityfosters said.

So here’s the story with Buttons. Yesterday, he began having diarrhea. Then, last night, he sneezed, so I kept an eye on him. By morning it was a full blown, snotty cold. The shelter gave me clavamox, ponazuril, and panacur, as well as digestive care food. I’m not quite sure how he got these illnesses, considering he is kept in a different room on a different floor than Jekyll and Hyde. My main concern is the diarrhea. We’ll see how it goes!🤞🏻 @windycityfosters said.

Good morning!☀️ Update on Buttons: He’s doing really well with the clavamox and l-lysine, which makes me think that the virus is Feline Herpes Virus. Two days ago he wasn’t eating much, wasn’t playing much, and had an awful stuffy nose. I put a humidifier in his room, heated up his wet food, and put lysine in his food. Next day he was almost completely better! His sneezing is minimal and he no longer has a runny nose!

Just got our order from @bruceandfoxdesigns!!! The skellycat catnip heart came just in time for Halloween.. and it’s ADORABLE. We also got a catnip mouse, which my resident cat loves so much that she carried it off somewhere and now I’m going to have to find it…😆. @windycityfosters said.

So I’m taking Buttons to the vet tomorrow evening. He began to sneeze two weeks ago and has been on Clavamox until today. He has not gotten better. Things were looking up last week, but then it got worse. He has a stuffy nose and is sneezing every 30 seconds. I’m glad he is still eating well. I feel so bad for him. He has been isolated from any other cats for so long😢. We are going to start on new meds as soon as we go to the vet.

Please help me help Buttons! We need wet food badly and adoption rates have gone down for unknown reasons, so funds are low and there are 50 cats and 20 dogs at the shelter, not to mention 100+ cats and dogs in foster homes. Update on kitten Buttons: He is doing very well! The clindamycin worked like a charm and he no longer has a stuffy nose and rarely sneezes. Yesterday, I only caught him sneeze twice the entire day! Unfortunately until he completely stops sneezing for at least two days, he will be kept in quarantine away from the other cats and kittens. But I’m hoping he’ll be able to meet them in a few days!🤞🏻He is now 15 weeks old and weighs 3 lbs. I expect he should be going to be neutered and up for adoption in the next week and a half! @windycityfosters said.
