Introducing kitten Odin!

This baby is close in age to Ollie, but quite tiny. He came into my care this afternoon, and we had a quick bum bath because, well, 💩.

Odin (or Odie as I’m calling him) is more fragile than Ollie the Kittenpiglet, so after relocating Ollie to a temporary “apartment”, I thoroughly disinfected the incubator, and put Odie in there. They will have to be separated for a quarantine period before they are allowed to be together.

We’re so glad Odie is here, and look forward to Ollie meeting his new “brother” soon. @kitten_faces said.

Oh my goodness! Ollie seems so huge now, after Odie arrived in Kittenland yesterday. Ollie is not a kitten; he is a Kittenpiglet!

This buff blimp is super affectionate and I can’t believe he’s only been here a week.
He has almost doubled in weight. 💪🏻🐷

Because our newest orphan kitten Odie is so small and frail, chonky Ollie has been relocated to this temporary “apartment”, so that his new little brother can reap the benefits of the Kitty Bake Oven (incubator). In case you’re concerned about Ollie’s new digs, it’s important to remember that most neonatal kittens spend all of their time just sleeping and nursing. They actually feel more secure in a smaller space, plus it keeps him warm. @kitten_faces said.

Mr Odin here had just had a bottle less than an hour ago, but his rooting around during “recess” clearly indicates he’s hungry again. Sure enough, this baby sucked down 10 ml more of kitten formula! @kitten_faces said.

Is it just me, or has Odie has turned into a puppy? 🐶 @kitten_faces said.

He’s been here a little over 48 hours. He’s demanding, sometimes sneaks a 💩 out without invitation, gets me up all hours of the night, has caused my hands to turn nearly reptilian with all the constant handwashing to prevent cross contamination, he’s often a “hangry” eater, and to top it all off, Odie’s arrival has kicked Ollie out of the Kitty Bake Oven.

But then, look at him. He keeps melting my heart. 💙 @kitten_faces said.

It’s been a day! When neonatal kittens don’t want to eat things can get scary fast. Finally this evening Odie drank a little bit of kitten formula. 🍼 @kitten_faces said.

Yesterday and last night Odie was tube fed. This morning he was rooting around acting hungry and drank 7 ml of kitten formula from a syringe. Oh, and he 💩 all over in the incubator. But his cuteness kind of overshadowed the 💩 @kitten_faces said.

Mr Odin the Smol has been a fairly big eater today! 🎉🎉🎉

Still cautiously optimistic but he has not had to require the feeding tube for the past 4 feedings. @kitten_faces said.

Kitten power= the feeling you have when you finish off a full bottle of milkies. 🍼🍼🍼
