Newest rescues. Cue Sarah McLachlan music. When I see their sad faces that’s all I hear. Yesterday, I spent the afternoon transporting transfers from eastern Oregon and finding fosters. Luckily, everyone is placed. These 2 stayed with me.

These 2 are rail thin, have ringworm, upper respiratory infections, eye infections and won’t eat on their own. Oh and they were covered in fleas!!! I was worried the little orange was going to die, but he’s still pushing through. Please pray for their recovery, it’s so sad they have been suffering with this illness. @theswiftiekittens said.

These 2 are stable. Eating, taking meds, finally using the litter box. Feces are firming up. I need to get my hands on some frontal to kill the tapeworms (moving sucks). The orange kitten is a girl and she always sleeps with the torbie. Slowly improving. @theswiftiekittens said.

Yesterday at lunch I came home to her crashing. She was so hypoglycemic. I was able to get an IV catheter in and started therapy. We’ve been fighting ever since. She’s hooked up to IV fluids with dextrose, started syringe feedings but moved to tube feeding a critical care formula and I was up every 1.5 hours last night caring for her. Now I work a 12 hour day. It’s gonna be a long one. She’s still here with us, but I’m unsure if we can keep it that way. @theswiftiekittens said.
She’s still with us and has decided to eat on her own twice for me today. She is named now, meet Beegee! Because I keep singing “staying alive” to her. She’s still a hot mess but we are working on it. @theswiftiekittens said.
Beegee is over here eating again on her own!!! Positive steps to recovery. She’s still very fragile. I’m going to try weaning her off IV fluids today. @theswiftiekittens said.

It’s 2 am and we are not doing so great. Weaning off the fluids with dextrose didn’t go as planned and we hypoglycemic crashed again. I got her back and fed her again. Unfortunately, this may mean she may not recover. Eating should keep her blood glucose up but that’s not working. I’m going to run some labs in the morning. I may have to make a difficult decision. Ugh. This is so hard. Beegee I love you so, but I don’t want you to suffer. @theswiftiekittens said.

Just an update. Beegee’s sister Sarah is still here. She’s thriving. She loves to eat and cuddle next to her stuffed buddy. Today is bath day for her. She is slowly transforming in front of my eyes. She was pretty sad about her sister not being around and I’ve been spending extra time with her. @theswiftiekittens said.
Sarah update: She’s doing well. She spends her days eating, snoozing and playing with her ball toy. She loves attention and getting pets. Does well with bath time too. Today she tested negative for feline leukemia virus and feline aids @theswiftiekittens said.
