Welcome mama cat and her EIGHT (š³) kittens! These kittens were born in the early morning of September 8th so they are 4 days old now.
Mama cat has been a little nervous coming to an unfamiliar place, but I can tell sheās very sweet. Whenever she wants pets, she will come up to me and softly bump my hand with her head. š„°
Before mama cat came to the shelter, she was living outside as a stray and covered in fleas. She came into the shelter pregnant and also with her previous litter of 3 month old kittens (that are ready to be adopted), so this is not her first litter. However, this will be mama catās last litter of kittens and after these kittens grow up, sheāll be able to finally retire from her mom duties. Breeze is the smallest kitten out of all 8 kittens, so he sometimes gets pushed to the side during feeding time by the other kittens. This is a video of him being absolutely overjoyed when he got to nurse all by himself during one-on-one time with mama Celeste. š

Happy 2 weeks to The Sky Kittens! š„³ All of their eyes have opened, Cloudās points are starting to darken and Rain is getting some little spots on her nose as well.

Sunny, the scawiest kitten in all the lands. š #hiss
Why do baby kittens hiss? Kittensālike 2-week-old Sunnyāat this age rely on their sense of smell to navigate the world. Kittens will often instinctively hiss whenever they smell something unfamiliar. In Sunnyās case, she was hissing because I had used a different hand soap so my hands smelled different to her than usual. @fosteringlove.pdx said.

The kittens turned 3 weeks old today! š„³
On another note, Celeste has been feeling a little sick lately. The kittens are still doing great since Celeste is such a good mama, even when sheās not feeling too good. We are helping her feel better soon. š
