Mama Misty is making great progress! .
Feral cats will typically try to stay hidden when you’re in the room. They will find the most protected spot they can, and will squeeze themselves into a tight crouch. They won’t move or eat in front of you. .
Mama Misty started coming out from hiding last week. She would creep in a slow crouch, then sit out in the open watching me. Eventually she layed down on her side in the open, which is very vulnerable. .
Then she ate when I put a bowl in front of her, and a few days later I was able to hand feed her treats. A few days ago I pet her head. And now this behaviour, where she walked over very close to where I was sitting to eat her meal. .
It’s all really great progress. I still don’t know what this means for her future but I’m going to continue working with her and see how far we can get. @whiskersnpurrs said.
