I thought I would launch #wobblysquadweek with one of my favourite memories of Tate (now Sampson). He had a thing for the grasses in my garden and was always launching himself into them. This was after he was adopted and his new Mom had to go away so Tate came back to stay with me. He loved his supervised garden play time 😍 @wobblycats.

This is the Wobbly Squad! When I was first asked to foster them I was told all three had CH (cerebellar hypoplasia). I had heard of CH but was not very familiar with it and had never met a CH cat in person. I named them Tabitha, Tate, and Teddy 😍.

Over time I realized that Teddy didn’t have any symptoms of CH. Tabitha was mild and Tate was moderate. I quickly learned what modifications were needed in their environment to make their life easier. I fell hard and fast for these special kittens ❤️ @whiskersnpurrs said

Tate on the right has moderate CH, Tabitha in the middle is mild, and Teddy on the left does not have CH.

It became clear soon on that Tate needed a different set up for meal times. I put a formed silicone feeder on our wish list and a kind follower sent it immediately. The feeder was more stable and it was soft so when Tate bumped his face into it the impact was gentle. CH kittens are very clever and adapt well to their surroundings with small modifications 😍 #wobblysquadweek.

This is Tate. He was incredibly sweet and affectionate from day one. He was also stubborn, tenacious, and a big ol’ cry baby 😭 #wobblysquadweek.

Wobblies in a box! Further proof that CH cats are really no different. They are curious, playful, affectionate, happy and can do most everything an able-bodied cat can do. So no need to feel sad for them! They don’t know they’re different and they’re having a great life ❤️. #wobblysquadweek .

This delightful creature is Teddy. Teddy bear was the shy brother of the wobblies. Such a sweet snuggler tho 😍 @whiskersnpurrs said.

I have been fosterless for over three months now, which is the longest I’ve gone without kittens since I started fostering in 2014. At first it was OK because I was busy with the new puppy, foster dad had surgery, and I was travelling – so there wasn’t much time for fosters anyways. But now… there’s nothing but time, and still no kittens!
.
I’m realizing how important fostering is for my mental health and emotional well being. Caring for babies gives me a sense of purpose. Focusing on them gets me out of my head and into my heart. Kitten therapy is for reals! Snuggling purring kittens is a major stress reliever for me.
.
Outside of my selfish desires, the lack of kittens is a good thing. It could be a reflection that the decades of work our local rescues have put in is making a difference. It could be the weather. It could be that people are not calling us for help with their domestic pets because of social distancing.
.

His wobbly siblings kind of stole the show, but he was such a lovely shy boy. He was adopted to a family with another young cat and a dog to be buddies with 😍 @whiskersnpurrs said.
