Christmas came a few days early at Camp cat Whiskersnpurrs!

This is a cat sister & brother pair that were rescued from a life outside just in time as we’re having a very snowy cold spell with below zero temperatures. They were named Braxi & Braxton which have very special meaning within our rescue group ❤️
They’re both a bit shy, but it’s already evident that Braxi is very interested in being friends. Braxton… not so much! 😆

Braxi loves being loved on, and has been very affectionate from day one. Something I need to work on with her is getting her comfortable coming close to me for cuddles. She’s great when I pet her where she’s at, but doesn’t love it when I pick her up or put her on my lap or next to me on the bed. Easy fix though as she’s so snuggle motivated 😍

Some of you have mentioned that their faces are quite round. I agree that they are rounder and their noses a bit flatter than most domestic shorthair kittens. Maybe they have a bit of British shorthair in their mix. Whatever it is, I call it adorable 😍

Braxi was snuggling with me and purring up a storm while her brother watched from the cat tree. He must have been feeling left out, as he made his way down and tucked himself in. It’s the little scootch to get closer that does it for me ❤️

Braxton lost his cool at the vet this morning. The kids went in for their vaccine booster shots and I really thought his hissy scaredy cat behaviour was behind us, but apparently not. So we’ve got more work to do before they can go for adoption 😕

We had company over last night and I expected the kids to hide out in their room, but they hung out in the livingroom and were quite social. Braxton even allowed a few pets! 🥰

Rainy Tuesdays are for cuddling. Their little pink accents are the cutest 😍

Yesterday he completely lost his cool when my friend was here. She approached him slowly and gently, and he still threw a hissy fit. And he’s met her before! Then this morning he snuggles on the couch with Birdie 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sundays are for snuggles 😍

Here is a good example of a formerly feral kitten in the transition stage of socialization. He willingly climbed up into my lap for a cuddle and is purring which is amazing! But he’s flattening his ears, his eyes aren’t soft, and he is still very wary of what my suspect hand is about to do. He even gave me a half-hearted warning nip… such a tough guy! After this I just let him lay on me without any fussing until his body and face relaxed ❤️
