So this li’l nuggy has been keeping me very busy the past 24 hrs. We are finally settling into a good routine, and she’s bonded with me so is feeling less upset about all the sudden changes. .
She was found in a heat vent. Her semi-feral stray mom went into heat and rejected her and the other babies. She’s the sole survivor 😢

Foster Dad has named her Lola. She’s three weeks old and she’s already stolen our hearts #littlelola💕 @whiskersnpurrs said.

Just waking up ❤

Having an orphan singleton bottle baby is a unique fostering experience. I never had children, but I feel like I’m getting a tiny taste of what it’s like caring for a little one. I’m a zombie from middle of the night feedings that interrupt my sleep. I want to throw a party every time she burps and my level of excitement over her first poop was absurd (I took photos. And shared them 🙄) Yesterday I was late for work because she screamed when I put her in her playpen, and she just wanted to be held. I hold her against my chest when she’s tired and hum her to sleep, and she roots around in the blanket looking for a nipple for comfort… I swear it makes my boobs ache. Mad props to all the mamas 🙏🏻 @whiskersnpurrs said.

Lola’s new phase is ‘overly dramatic’ 🙄 @whiskersnpurrs said.
Lola had a bit of a rough day. We were going out for more than a few hours so she came along with us. She had an upset tummy and was trying to tell me, but I didn’t notice in time. I feel awful. No matter how good a foster mom you are, the best thing for kittens this young is to be with their mother.

Please spay and neuter your pets. It’s so simple, and prevents so much suffering. If cost is an issue contact the SPCA or a local rescue as there are many low cost/free programs available. #Littlelola💕 @whiskersnpurrs said.

Lola is doing just fine. She has some runny 💩 which is not uncommon with bottle fed babies. I’m working on sorting that out. She’s still gaining weight and thriving ❤ #littlelola💕 @whiskersnpurrs said.
Lola gets an A+ for eating ⭐️
.
I am feeding every 5-6 hours, and I only get up once in the night around 3am. She’s using the litter box now so she sleeps in her playpen. She will be 5 weeks old next weekend so I’ll start introducing solid food soon. She’s just a little angel 😍 @whiskersnpurrs said.

Awfully frisky for a girl who was up at 2:30am and 5:30am. I wish I could say the same 😴
.
This is why I recommend adopting kittens in pairs. It’s SO much harder having a singleton because they need much more of your attention. Pairs keep each other entertained and comforted 🐱🐱 @whiskersnpurrs said.

Who’s this pretty little lady?! 😍
.
When I post photos of Lola I often get comments about her wonky eyes. I assure you, they are perfectly normal for her age! Even though kittens’ eyes open at 7-10 days old, their vision and focus is very poor. It gradually improves until they’re seeing normally, at around 10 weeks old.
.
Many have asked if her eyes are wonky because she’s Siamese. First off, she is not a purebred Siamese! She is a Domestic Shorthair Colourpoint. Crossed eyes are linked to the colourpoint gene, and in purebred Siamese cats it’s still a trait that shows up. But in domestic colourpoints it’s not common 🐱 #littlelola💕 #colourpoint @whiskersnpurrs said.
