New friends! These beautiful cat brothers will be staying with us for a few weeks. They have names that I can’t remember or spell so I’m going with nicknames – Boo on the left, Bean on the right! 😆
I’ll fill you in on their story soon. For now I’m just getting to know them, and watching them enjoy the spacious foster room after being in a kennel for the past three months. Welcome to Camp Whiskersnpurrs boys! We are so happy to have you 🙏🏻

The sweetest cat boys ❤️
When the brothers were found back in the summer they had a terrible case of ringworm. Unfortunately the reality is that kittens with ringworm are often euthanized because it takes a lot of time and effort to treat, and is very contagious, especially in a shelter situation.
The expression “fostering saves lives” isn’t just a cute hashtag, it’s very literal. Even though our rescue was bursting at the seams we took the boys in. They were quarantined in a kennel and a very dedicated group of volunteers cared for them. The boys were safe, warm, had full tummies and were loved on every day while receiving treatment. They are now ringworm free!
I know many of you were concerned about them being in a kennel for an extended time but it was decided this was a better option than euthanasia! I’m sure everyone can agree that the best decision was made for these boys. Maybe this is the story that inspires you to sign up to foster 🙏🏻
Sometimes hard decisions need to be made in rescue, but it’s important to look at the big picture. The boys have 15+ years of life ahead of them, so a few months in a kennel is not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things. They are doing great and are so sweet and happy. Cats don’t mope around complaining about their traumatic childhoods 😉

Now that Annie’s mittens have left the building, my new obsession is Boo’s freckle. Or is it a beauty mark?! 🤔
Happy Caturday! The boys have a big day planned… first some play time, then snuggles with foster mom, hopefully a meat tube or some Temptations, then afternoon naps. What’s everyone else got planned for today? ☺️

Bean is the most handsome black house panther. What’s not to love about black cats?! He’s so sweet and silky soft too 😍
The boys are trying to escape the foster room. Should I let them free range? I feel like they might be trouble… 🤔

It’s a whole new world! The boys bolted out of the room this morning. Boo ran straight to the middle of the livingroom and Bean ran under a chair 😆

Boo is a bit bamboozled by the puzzle, but clever Bean has it all figured out ☺️

Snow day snuggles ❄️❄️❄️
Yes, Bean’s eyes are weepy. He had the tiniest hint of a weepy eye when he first arrived but it’s been getting worse. The fluid is clear which indicates viral, so antibiotic drops won’t help. I’ve been giving him Lysine which is an amino acid supplement that is said to help with symptoms of feline herpes virus. Fingers crossed it clears up quickly as the boys are supposed to go for adoption very soon! 🙏🏻
