A local found six kittens under their car
It’s about time I introduced my new crew! A local found six kittens under their car and called the @andersonhumane for help. We were initially told that their eyes were open and they were running around so we were quite surprised when they brought in a litter of 3-4 day old kittens.
Normally in this situation, we would try to reunite them with their mom. However only five out of six kittens were brought in…apparently mom and the sixth kitten disappeared. We suspect she was in the middle of moving them and returned to find that the rest of her litter was kit-napped. Because it’s possible she has a kitten out there somewhere, she cannot be trapped right now.
So the other five are here in my incubator! There is one little orange boy and the rest are all white. A couple of them have a slightly darker shade to their ears, so I’m curious so see if they end up being seal point.🤔 Names to come soon!

We have names! Introducing the purple kittens!
Up first we have Thistle and Helio (short for Heliotropium), both boys.
Next we have the girls, Lilac and Lavender.
And finally we have Plum, the only ginger boy and the only one who was adamant about not getting a photo.

Lilac is having some sibling time this morning! They’re much bigger and stronger than her so it’s a short visit, but she likes to join the cuddle puddle every once in a while.💕
PS excuse Thistle’s messy-ish face—he tried wet food for the first time today!

This is Lilac. After eight days of no weight gain, a struggling appetite, and round-the-clock monitoring and supplements…she crashed. I left a work event early and sat in a Dairy Queen parking lot for two hours syringing fluids and corn syrup into her mouth before I could get her home and into the incubator. Her respiratory rate is all over the place, an indication that her lungs are struggling to function. She’s on oxygen now, but is unresponsive for the most part. I’ve never seen a kitten bounce back from this point. This is reality and when I’ve spent the last few days telling people she’s probably not going to survive, I was facing it.
She’s made it 4 hours, but I don’t know how much longer she can hold on. I told her it was ok to let go if she needed to. I hope in some way she understands.💔

This is Lavender. She is thriving. She is a chunky 5 week old kitten who just kicked the bottle in exchange for wet food (which was 100% her decision).
As some of you know, Lilac passed away not long after I posted the video yesterday. I didn’t want to make another sad post, another black and white photo. So here is her sister—her fluffy doppelgänger. Her legacy is carried on in her four surviving litter mates and when I look at them I see her strength. Rest In Peace, Lilac.💜
