New fosters kitten ! @supremecatjustices found these two tiny 1-day old newborns yesterday morning outside her work. With no mom in sight for hours, they were given to me to be bottle-fed. The darker kitten is a girl weighing in at only 87 grams, the lighter kitten is a boy and weighs 102 grams! @teenytinyfosters said.
#earwiggles 🙂 the kittens had a little difficulty latching on for the first couple of feedings, but they quickly got the hang of it! They eat 2-4ml of formula every 1.5 hours, pulling the syringe by themselves. @teenytinyfosters said.
Introducing Yin and Yang! The darker girl is Yin and the lighter boy is Yang. When they curl up together they look like the Yin Yang symbol with Yang’s black belly spot 🙂

Yin started opening her eyes a little early, usually, eyes don’t open until 8-12 days! Yin has doubled her weight and is now 150 grams, Yang weighs in at 178 grams 🙂
Yang finally started opening his eyes last night! Yin’s eyes are now fully open. Unfortunately, they have started to get some pretty bad diarrhea the past two days and have been getting a butt bath and blanket change every feeding. Starting them on medication for coccidia today.
Yang fully opened his eyes! The #YinYangKittens are slowly improving from their medications. They were starting to refuse the bottle and lose weight yesterday. Yin needed sub-q fluids to help with dehydration from diarrhea and a little nutrical since she was not eating as much as Yang. Thankfully by this afternoon, they both have much better appetites and their weights are coming back up. @teenytinyfosters said.
The #YinYangKittens are feeling a bit better! They still have terrible diarrhea, but are both getting their appetites back and gaining weight again 🙂 Yin is up to 160 grams now and Yang is much bigger at 230 grams!
